Venhill brake lines on track for success

Venhill race sponsorship preview 2009

Zach OsbourneVenhill braided brake lines have been a firm favourite with racers for three decades and this year the British manufacturer will be supporting top teams on road, track and dirt.

The Surrey-based manufacturer of motorcycle control lines built its reputation in motocross (or scrambles as it was known at the time) and this season Venhill is an official partner of UTAG Yamaha. Founded and run by former Yamaha GP mechanic Steve Dixon, UTAG Yamaha competes on 125cc machines in the MX2 class of GP. For 2009 the rider lineup includes Zach Osborne (above), from the USA, in the MX2 World Championship, as well as Megan Lewis in the World Women's Championship. Following the Benelux GP Zach is currently in 6th place overall, so the team is off to a strong start.

Hydrex Honda, meanwhile, race with 1000cc four cylinder machines in British Superbikes. Karl ‘Bomber’ Harris rejoins the team this year, alongside Macau Grand Prix winner Stuart Easton, who is fourth in the BSB Championship standings. Guy Martin will be attacking the road circuits for Hydrex, including the NW200 and Isle of Man TT; Guy scored a win at the Oliver’s Mount circuit in Scarborough this April.

Look out for Venhill’s distinctive coloured brake lines and control cables on race bikes as the season continues. Call  01306 885111  for more product information.
