Motorcycle Brake Cables

When Venhill started making high quality replacement cables in 1970, most motorcycles were cable-operated drum brakes.

Brake cables are put under considerable stress, as riders pull hard on the lever to apply the brakes, which can lead to stretching and, in some cases, complete failure, if the nipple snaps away from the inner wire. This was a particular problem with factory-fitted cables, which were often made to the lowest possible price and many riders chose to upgrade with Venhill cables, that would stand the test of time.

If you need to replace a brake cable on your motorcycle or scooter, choose Venhill, so your controls will work better for longer.

Venhill replacement brake cables are made to the highest specification in our UK factory, which is ISO 9001 certified to ensure consistently high production standards.

An upgrade to the standard fitment, each replacement brake cable features high tensile strength galvanised steel inner wire, to resist stretching, and a PFTE ('teflon') liner for a low friction smooth operation.

Venhill cables are ‘Bird-caged' as standard – a special process applied to the end of the inner wire, which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger. This process adds extra strength and durability, so cables can withstand being put under repeated stress and pressure.
